Rentavo is the latest creation of our boss, Dallas Shewmaker, who came to Arizona in 2000 to retire after spending more than 25 years in the custom publishing industry. Given his intent to retire, he's failed miserably.

Since 2000, Dallas has started an online camping equipment rental business, www.lowergear.com, which has now become the world's largest such company. He's also started a successful online GPS rental business, spread over six different websites, including Expedia, Travelocity, AAA-Arizona and American Express Vacations as partners, as well as a third business that works behind-the-scenes to rent GPS and other electronic gadgets to customers of selected car rental companies across the U.S.  

In addition to Rentavo, he's now in the planning stages of starting up two more new businesses - an online ecommerce site devoted to ... we can't tell you yet ...  AND a (déjà vu) new custom publishing venture. Whew!  We guess Dallas just couldn't get the hang of shuffleboard. A "type B" he's not.  

The two common themes that unite all of these seemingly disparate businesses are MastTec's exceptional expertise in rental logistics and our overwhelming passion for gadgets. The love of, and fascination with, gadgets came first. The rest is just business.
